CAPF Vacancy 2023 : At present, more than 83000 posts are vacant in Central Police Force (CAPF) and Assam Rifles. This information has been given by Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai. In response to a question, he said that a total of 1015237 posts are sanctioned in CAPFs and Assam Rifles. Out of this there are 83127 vacancies. Apart from this, 64444 vacancies have been notified. These are in various stages of recruitment. Its process will be completed only in 2023. In fact, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs was asked in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday whether the existing personnel are having to work overtime due to vacancies in CAPFs. On this, he said that it would be wrong to say that the existing employees are having to work overtime due to vacancies. Several measures have been taken to quickly fill up the vacancies in CAPFs and Assam Rifles.

The Union Home Minister said that filling up of vacancies is a continuous process. The Ministry, through Union Public Service Commission, Staff Selection Commission and related forces, has been taking prompt steps to fill up the vacancies expeditiously. He told that between July 2022 and July 2023, a total of 32 thousand 181 persons have been recruited. Apart from this, 64444 vacancies have been notified.

Measures taken to speed up the recruitment process

The Union Minister of State for Home said that to speed up the recruitment process, the time taken for the medical test process has been reduced. Also, the cut off marks have been reduced to shortlist enough candidates in Constable GD Recruitment. Along with this, it has been decided to make 10 percent reservation for ex-Agniveers in the recruitment of Constable GD in Assam Rifles.
